Exhibition - We who work with our bodies
April 30 at noon - May 19 at noon
WE WHO WORK WITH OUR BODIES
About conditions. About class. About dignity.
People who work with their bodies in public space are rarely seen or heard. In the media, it is as if nowadays everyone belongs to the middle class. But close to two million people are part of the working class.
Many of them are on the front lines in hospitals, buses, shop floors... Few of the working class can work from home. Without this working class, Sweden will stop.
Initiator and exhibition producer Annica Carlsson Bergdahl and photographer Elisabeth Ohlson have traveled in Sweden, from Kiruna to Malmö. They have interviewed, photographed and filmed 33 people who work with their bodies.
The exhibition will be set up in Hultsfred Folkets Park on Skaken for certain days between 29/4-19/5.
See our website for more information or our Facebook page. Planned exhibition dates dates; 30/4 and 1/5
In the exhibition (the book and the platform visomarbetarmedvarakroppar.se) their voices in words, sound, film and photography get a place.
With its stories and personal portraits, the exhibition is an important testimony from the working class everyday life of our time, which shows the consequences of manual labor and strengthens respect for it. We meet people who talk about deteriorating working conditions, lack of respect and unsustainable structures. But also about organization, class affiliation and pride.
