Here lay Oskar Edv. Ekelunds Snickerifabriks AB or colloquially known as the "Company". It was Virserum's largest furniture factory with a maximum of 240 employees. After the decline and fall of the furniture industry, the then remaining buildings were restored to become a tourism and cultural center. Today, the area is a very popular destination as there are museums, an art gallery, café, herb garden, playground, conference rooms and more.
Virserum Art Gallery
With an exhibition area of 1600 square meters, contemporary art is shown in exhibitions about people's everyday life as well as art that in various forms illuminates research and current social issues.
Virserum Furniture Industry Museum
The museum is a replica of a furniture factory from the 1920s with machines running on belt drives and shaft lines driven by the large water wheel.
