From history straight into the future. You understand that development is fast, not least when you get to follow the development of mobile telephony from the 1950s to the present day at Virserum's Telemuseum.

There was a time, not so long ago, when the mobile phone was the supreme status symbol. The term yuppienalle was coined. At that time, the phone was large and heavy, rather sluggish than portable and cost a fortune.

There will be many dear reunions on a tour. A nostalgia trip in the world of mobile phones. NMT, GSM, 3G and whatever they are called, the different stages we have passed when it comes to mobile phones. Here at the museum, we can also follow what the landline looked like from the beginning. From the early 1900th century onwards.
The old manual switches where the person who called with the crank and had to request a telephone number. Then it was just to hope that the operator who knew everything about everyone in the village, put in the right plug. Then the gears became automatic, we got area codes and the technology developed more and more.

The museum allows us to follow the development from LM Ericsson's old black with gold decoration, to the bakelite monster with petmoj, the design classic Cobra and up to today's electronic monster that does not even need a cord to work. It's a development called duga at least, you can hardly believe it's true. But you can always call and ask…
