Hulingsryd is located north of Lake Hulingen and offers shady environment, lush beach forests, dry pine forests, open pastures and moist alcoves.
Large parts of the forest are now overgrown with forest, but only a hundred years ago the landscape was characterized by fertile meadows and open natural pastures. In the area, a number of old haystacks grow from that time.
Strandskogen is a lush environment with alcove and sausage lakes. Here the area is dominated by club, oak, aspen, maple and salesman. The undergrowth is sometimes dense and almost impervious. The high humidity benefits many lichen, mosses and fungi. Here is also the kingfisher and the smaller woodpecker.
The Silver River flows through the reserve. Here you will find perch, roach, bream and pike. If you are lucky you can also see an otter.
