Skiren is a small and shallow lake that includes the Flatens FVO and the Gårdvedaån water system. Flatens FVO includes the lakes Garpen, Skiren, Upper Vrången, Yttre Vrången, Flaten, Melsjön and Bysjön. The whole area is nice and offers good and varied sport fishing. The fishing license is valid in all lakes included in the FVO.
The skier is located between Målilla and Virserum, near road 23 and you have to walk a bit from the road to get to the lake. The surroundings are mainly dominated by woodland and the land is in many places rich in blocks and stones. The water vegetation is relatively dense and consists of leaf reed, sap, catfish and water lilies. The lake is shallow and on some stretches it can be difficult to fish from shore, but with boots or even wader pants you can find suitable places for land fishing. Parking is next to the road where you cross the river north of the lake where there is also an information board.

Tips
Fishing in the Skiren
Trout is found throughout the water system, though sparingly. Pike and perch can be fished with many methods, including with meteor and fly. You can fish for bream, teats and tart from shore in the northern part of the lake.
