The city lake is located about 15 km southwest of Hultsfred. Bysjön is one of the lakes that is part of the Flatens Fiskevårds area in the Gårdvedaån water system. You will find the lake if you make your way to Gårdveda farm, just south of Gårdveda. If you pass the river, a small road goes south, signposted Salsnäs. If you follow that road, you pass the lake. The surroundings are dominated by coniferous forest, pine and spruce. The beaches are mostly rocky and the vegetation of the lake is sparse with hints of pike, leaf reed and water lilies. The lake also contains some large stones that are visible in the water. The densest vegetation is found in the northern part where the river opens. Shallow beaches with dense vegetation are important areas for all fish in the lake as they function as play and growing places.

Tips
Fishing in the City Lake
The town lake is a nice and easily accessible lake, perfect for relaxing down the road on a family outing. Good landings where the lake has a harder bottom are all around the southern part of the lake and the stretches can provide good fishing for perch, pike and roach. Spinning with a spinner or casting with mask works well and often produces fish. Measuring rods of different lengths can advantageously be used by children as these are easy to handle. Pike can be iced in the winter, which often yields well with fish. In the eastern part you can spin pike near the reeds where the lake has its outlet.
