The flat

The area is a popular angling lake, not least by foreign angling tourists. It is located about 15 km southwest of Hultsfred next to the road between Målilla and Virserum. The surface is one of the lakes that are part of the fishing area of ​​the Flat. The lake is nutrient-poor and the environment is dominated in the northern part of deciduous forest and in the southern part of coniferous forest. The soil is often blocky and rocky. In the northern part of the lake is a domain reserve, Bocksudd, which contains oak forests. Water vegetation is sparse except in some shallow areas in the western and northern parts where the perch and leaf reed grow. In the middle of the lake is a small island called Flateö. In the south-west part of the lake there is a swimming area. Osprey, larch and small woodpecker nest on the lake.

Around the Flats you can find many landings to fish from and there is also a boat for hire. In the southern and eastern part of the lake there are many ponds to fish from, which suits the fishing for pike and perch. Both pike and perch are numerous and in all sizes. Perch of 1,8 kg has been taken in the lake and it is relatively common for fish over 1 kg. The perch can be saturated with lye or spin fishing with jig and spinner. The lake is also a very good pimple lake where it pays to try out with balance and vertical pier depending on the size of the fish you are looking for.

The pike fishing in Flaten is good. Fish around 10 kg are not uncommon and pike have been taken over 12 kg. If you rent a boat you have lots of places to fish. Then you can take the opportunity to release a wobbler after the boat in the deepest areas of the lake where the hive is. The deepest areas are east and north of Flateö and are areas that house large pike. Meta after carp fish can be done in many places from land, including in the southern part and in the northern bay where the river flows from the lake.
