Lönneberga church is very beautifully located, at a height where the forest opens up, about 6 km from the towns of Silverdalen and Lönneberga.

The present church was built in 1870-72 with the choir to the west and the entrance to the east which is very unusual.
Lönneberga Church has had several forerunners. From the oldest known church, probably built in the mid-1300s, a crucifix has been preserved. According to tradition, this medieval wooden church should have its place 400 meters south or southwest of the present shrine. It must have looked like a barn and had been built before 1341. Towards the end of the 1500th century, it must have been replaced by a new wooden church, which was ravaged and burned by the Danes in connection with the Kalmar War in 1612.
After that event, the church was built in the 1600th century, which was the forerunner of the present church. It was built in stone and wood and remained until about 1870
Below the pulpit stands a bridal chair of oak, preserved from the old church's furnishings. In the middle of the southern long wall are some oil paintings, which constituted an altar ornament in the old church and a light arm is also preserved.
The oil paintings and light arm were donated by Major Lars Weidenhielm who passed away in Riga in 1709. His wife Christina Klint (d. 1739) was the owner of Saxemåla farm in Lönneberga. In the church you can see the family Weidenhielm's coat of arms.
In the cemetery there are several wooden crosses that are characteristic of the area.

A beautiful church which, with its fine acoustics, is perfect for holding concerts in. We listened to an extremely fine concert with the Vena and Lönneberga church choirs, the Vena men's choir and the Glädjekhoren under the direction of Jeanette and with fantastic musicians.

Beautiful church. When you come driving on the road from Silverdalen, I am always equally captivated by the view with the church.
