On a small hill, with beautiful views, in the village of Talleryd outside Vena lies the farm Nybble. In the fine Lillstugan, creativity flows in Steve Balk's artist studio.
It all started with Steve being in his 20s. He attended some ABF courses in Silverdalen which led to more courses.
-But the best was Hermods, there were at that time very famous letter courses and I went a few different ones. For example, I learned perspective, morphology and shadow theory, I got an assignment, sent in a number, got back with grades and what to think about.
Consideration is often made of landscape motifs in Steve's paintings and often with a local connection. The inspiration is all around here in the immediate area. For his paintings, Steve makes his own frames. He saw them in his band saw he inherited from his father. The wood can come from different places. The frames give Steve's painting that particularly genuine feeling.
