The 7 km long and 891 millimeter wide narrow gauge Hultsfred-Västervik stretches from the forests of Småland in the west, past lakes, small communities and agriculture to the archipelago landscape in the east. Since the 1950s, the yellow and orange rail buses have rocked on the narrow-gauge railway. The trains run daily on the listed railway throughout the summer. Experience a train journey from the past - gfor an excursion all the way or travel a shorter distance!
On the rail buses there is simpler serving where you can buy coffee, soft drinks and simpler snacks.
- ticket purchase: You can buy tickets directly on board the trains. Card payment is not possible on board the trains. It is possible to pay by card at KLT travel center in Västervik and at the station in Verkebäck.

Stroller, wheelchair and walker: A stroller, wheelchair and walker may be brought free of charge. In rail bus trains, strollers can normally not be placed in the compartment but placed in the vestibule space according to the instructions of the train staff.

Bike: Bicycle is included, subject to location. If you are several by bicycle, we recommend pre-booking the day before travel by phone 0490-230 10. Bicycle costs SEK 40 regardless of distance.

Animal: Dog and other pets may accompany the paying traveler at no charge.

We went along this railway for an hour to Västervik and back a few hours later. Cozy and nice stretch with lots of forest and water. The trains were surprisingly comfortable and the staff friendly. Impressive that this can be maintained with non-profit forces.
Very nice nostalgic trip with an old rail bus. Remember again all the little details in the carriage from journeys in the past and enjoy the beautiful Småland nature whizzing past outside the train window at the right pace! The pleasant tour is recommended!
