Lake Stensjön is a beautiful and peaceful lake that lies a little off about 10 km southwest of Hultsfred. It is part of Stora Hammarsjöns FVO managed by SFK Kroken. You can easily find the lake from the south, if you go west from Målilla. When you pass the road that goes towards Virserum, a road starts north towards the area and there is also an information board. After 3 km on this dirt road you arrive at the lake, where you can park.

Stensjön is, as the name implies, a rocky lake and the surroundings are dominated by spruce and pine forest. The beaches are blocky and the water vegetation is sparse and consists of sieve, water clover, pike nests and water lilies. In the bay called Hålldammen, where Stensjöbäcken flows from the lake, it is shallow and there is denser vegetation.

Fishing in Lake Stensjön

Linden is a lake of high value in sport fishing and a lake that has great development potential. First of all, it is large pike that are interesting and fish up to 10 kg and above are not uncommon. The pike can grow large on the sickle that is found in large quantities in the deepest parts of the lake. In the deepest areas it is possible to fish with wobblers and a sink that weighs down the bait. Large wobblers in blue, green and silver often give many cuts. Good areas to fish in are places with steep slopes to deeper water.

A depth map of the lake is a good tool for finding the pike. Depth maps for Linden and other waters in this guide are available. A sonar is the easiest way to get in-depth, but you can also get guidance by looking at the surrounding land. Steep beaches often continue into the water and signal deep water, which makes the pike comfortable.

In addition to fishing with trailing wobble after boat, it works well to spin pike along the edges of capes and islands and into the shallower shallows. Then fish with spoon pull or wobble. The lake is, with all certainty, also a good water for pike in summer / autumn and for ice in winter. In addition, the lake has large suckers and the water has all the conditions needed to produce really big ones. Try to feed in the bay at Lixerum and be prepared for surprises.
