Angling beer is located between Målilla and Virserum, adjacent to road 23. The lake is one of the good examples of how to create an attractive angling lake by putting in carp. Virserum SFK leases the lake. They have it as club water and also sell fishing licenses.
Angler beer is a forest lake with typical appearance. The vegetation in the lake is sparse and consists of catfish, sap, pike nests and water lilies. The bottom is mostly soft from a layer of dye but in some places there are harder gravel bottom, mainly on the south side where the road goes. The surrounding area consists of birch closest to the lake and then pine and spruce forest. Parking is available on the old road in the southwest corner of the lake, where there is also information board, rental boat and catch reporting.

The first carp were released in 2004 and a total of over 200 fish have been put. The fish are growing well and in 2008 several carp over 5 kg were caught. Most fish are caught on the bottom of the boat with boilies, but you can also catch carp on the float or on the surface. There are places for carp fishing around the lake and you do not have to experience congestion. The carp is often found in connection with vegetation where it finds food in the form of larvae and worms.
The rules for fishing say that trapped carp should be released back into the lake and no more than 3 rods may be used. Furthermore, you are not allowed to fire around the lake or fish on the two summer cottages. For more information, visit the Virserum Club website. Pike and perch there is plenty in the lake and it works well to ice pike and pimple perch in winter.
