Hesjön

Hesjön is one of about 20 lakes that are part of Stora Hammarsjöns FVO. The area is leased and managed by SFK Kroken in Hultsfred. This guide presents 11 waters that are in this FVO. The area is classified as a national interest in the outdoor life and here a lot of things can be experienced. The area is rich in valuable habitats such as ancient forests, marshes and wetlands and in some places there are unusual plant species such as orchids and safsa. You also have a good chance to see wildlife such as deer and moose. In the deep and undisturbed forests, visitors can see flocks and ponds.

In addition to the area being an Eldorado for anglers, visitors can hike, camp, swim and pick berries. There are often wind shelters and barbecue areas by the water and you can rent boats in most lakes. Several fishing lakes are adapted for the disabled. The area is perceived as wilderness and the silence and tranquility is evident. In other words, Stora Hammarsjöns FVO is an area where the soul is at rest. For most lakes within FVO you can buy fishing licenses on the Internet via the fishing club.

The lake is about 1 mile south of Hultsfred and you find the lake from road 34. The lake is nutrient-poor and has clear water. The surroundings are dominated by rocks and stones and the soil layer is thin, where pores and pines grow. The vegetation in the lake is sparse with groves, catfish, leaf reed and water lilies. In the west, the lake is divided by the narrow-gauge railway and at the entrance to the lake is a very beautiful and popular bathing place. Parking is available at the beach.

Fishing in the Hesjön

There are many places to fish from around Lake Hesjön and you can easily walk on the trails that exist. The perch can be caught with float outside the edge where it often gets deeper, around 5-10 meters out. Good baits for the method are worms and if you want bigger perch, which there is in the lake, you can try with roach. Kilos perch are not uncommon and the larger fish can be found in slightly deeper water during the winter when pimping. Ruda and large roach are found in the lake. Rudan is found on shallower water near vegetation and you can advantageously mash with corn a few evenings in advance to attract the often shy fish to the site. Good places with ruda are in the northernmost part of the lake. Depths of around 1 meter are good for the pane and corn is the best hook.

Mört is a popular species of fish in some circles, especially if it becomes large. In Hesjön, there are regularly taken roaches over half a kilo and to catch these fish, you can bottom feed with corn, maggot or worm. If you fish a little deeper at around 3 meters depth you will find bigger roach and it is efficient with evening and night fishing. During the dark, many fish species become more obscure and especially the larger individuals are then most active. Pike can be found everywhere with both spoons and wobblers.

Great place, but the toilets need to be arranged and cleaned as their condition is very bad and disgusting. We also lack a water faucet.

Me and my daughter's dog (Luna) walked around the lake which has a lovely mix of gravel road and trails it took us two and a half hours but there were some stops so I could film and take photos, I recommend hiking for the beautiful nature and several swimming and barbecue opportunities throughout the hike
