The park is closed between 19 August and 4 September.
Målilla Gårdveda Hembygdspark is one of Sweden's largest and most active homebuilding parks. Here activities take place all year round and the park is constantly expanded with new attractions.
There are about 30 buildings in the park and the home community association has about 3 objects registered. In many of the buildings there are a number of museums with fixtures and history from the area.
Here you have, among other things, the opportunity to visit an engine museum with engines from the turn of the century to the 1960s.
In the upstairs of the old tannery there is a large exhibition that houses both a weapons museum and a school museum.
Eventually, a sanatorium museum will also be built in the premises. The home community association has taken over Inventories and objects from Moliljan, formerly Målilla Sanatorium who received TB patients from 1915. The last patient was discharged in 1973.
Do you want to see Målilla's first fire truck - a Ford AA 1930 you will find it in the fire department museum. The 300 square meter agricultural and wagon museum has around 15 wagons. There is also a sawmill with stock saw, edge saw and a 35-horse Målilla engine from 1934.
The Järnhandelsmuseet gives a genuine picture of Målilla Järn & Redskapshandel, founded in 1906.
At the Speedway Museum you can follow Dackarna through the ages with the speaker tower from the old speedway, just outside.
The well-known horse breeder Nils-Erik Hansson's Horsepok, which spans some 50 years until the 2000s, will eventually be housed in one of the buildings. For those interested there is, among other things, a large collection of medals and diplomas.
Målilla-Gårdveda Hometown Society is also the owner of Hagelsrum's blast furnace and Målilla Mechanical Workshop. The blast furnace is located five kilometers northeast of Målilla, at the fall of Silverån in the village of Hagelsrum. Målilla Mechanical Workshop can be found at the address; Södra Långgatan 6 in Målilla.
The coffeehouse from the sports ground in Målilla was moved to the park in 2013. During the summer, you can enjoy a cup of coffee and homemade bread.
More houses with different stories and backgrounds can be visited in the park.
Many events are arranged in the park during the summer. Everything from Hultsfred Municipality's traditional national day celebration to the big event Motor Day, which is organized on the first Saturday in August each year.
