In the home park you can see the old building construction and home furnishings. In total, there are around 15 buildings from the early 1600s to the 1900s as well as rich collections from the Stone Age to the present.
The buildings in the area illustrate the town's old building condition, home furnishings, working life and social functions.
Seed paper mill use is the only preserved hand paper mill in Sweden. In 1802, this mill was built about half a mile outside Virserum and became the town's first industry. At first, printing and writing paper was produced, in later years they switched to coarser types of paper. In 1921, the paper mill was dismantled to be exhibited at the great exhibition in Gothenburg. Eventually, the mill was taken back home and assembled in 1950 in Virserum's homestead park.
Fagerstrom cottage is a two-storey knot-timbered building, probably from the end of the 1700th century or the beginning of the 1800th century. Until 1918 it was the main building on Emil Fagerström's farm in Misterhult.
The Comber cabin is a small peat-covered timber building with very old building and housing condition. According to tradition, the house was built by the soldier Berg when he returned home from the 30-year war.
Ruben Nelson's Photo Studio is a beautiful small building in Art Nouveau style. The old foot equipment is preserved intact.
Tilda's cottage has the same interior and furnishings as when the last owner left it in 1940. The cottage is a log house of 4 x 8 meters with an antechamber, kitchen and room.

Very nice well-preserved and interesting local park with many buildings. There is a description of all buildings with explanations in Swedish, German and English. The area is relatively large and with a natural, slightly wild environment around. Parking and outdoor toilet are available.
We were out visiting local parks. Virserums Hembygdspark is uniquely built with many old houses and a stage. Very beautiful. #homeland #house #old
