Upper Vrången is part of Flatens Fiskevårds Area. The lake is located northeast of Virserum. It is a forest lake with sparse vegetation except at the bottom of most small bays. There grows sap, leaf reed, pike nests and water lilies. The lake is surrounded by coniferous forests and the beaches are rocky. Birds such as osprey and large pockets are often seen.

Fishing in Upper Vrången
Sport fishing from shore can be carried out and inside the small protective bays you can feed for carp fish such as roach, bream, saucer and caterpillar. Outside of these, where the depth is greater, the perch and pike are often found and these can be reached with spinners, jigs and spoons. There are large perch in the lake and these can be found in the western and eastern parts of the lake where headlands extend from shore. Effective is to bottom-feed perch with lye as bait. The lake is also a good pimple lake in winter.
